The workshop brings together philosophers from different traditions to discuss how philosophy should respond to the crises that characterize our present time. This includes the climate crisis; economic, humanitarian, social, and democratic crises; and not least the many crisis scenarios linked to the rapid development of AI. Can — and should — philosophy make these crises the subject of philosophical reflection? If so, how should it go about this? Do current circumstances require philosophers to employ special forms of philosophical thinking? How have philosophers responded to past crises?
